ARCHITEXTURE

This month sees ONE.61, the Singapore based luxury accessories label unveils a new collection of bags, each inspired by iconic architectural designs from around the world.  The ARCHITEXTURE Collection features striking and arresting styles each evoking buildings such as The Shard in London, Salt Shed in New York, from Singapore, the Esplanade Theatres, from Australia, the Sydney Opera House, the Shinjuku or “Cocoon Building” in Japan and an ambitious design representing Brutalist architecture of London’s Brunswick Centre.

ONE.61’s designs fuse modern art forms with traditional building techniques, and nod to the crafting traditions of Southeast Asia combined with the evocative architecture, interior and industrial design which adorn the modern world. Thanks to their superior craftsmanship, many of the clutches employ metal-smithing techniques akin to those often adopted in furniture making, ensuring a robust, gallant construction, in a reflection of the very buildings they present.    The new clutches are crafted from a range of luxe materials including resin, white Mother of Pearl and Blue-green white abalone shell.  Each bag is designed to be functional as well as beautiful and each piece is crafted by hand in Singapore by skilled craftsmen and takes between 10 to 12 weeks to complete by hand.
